Holiday Workshop:

The world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious factory…but only to a lucky few. Young Charlie Bucket and four other golden ticket winners will embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination including chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels and the great glass elevator, all to be revealed by Wonka's army of curious Oompa-Loompas.
ABOUT OUR WORKSHOPS
Our youth productions are designed specifically to provide a nurturing, constructive and safe environment for young performers. The workshop will focus on honing performance skills, boosting confidence and having FUN! It will be great way for participants to work with professional theatre makers and most importantly give them a chance to get up on stage and perform!!
The workshop registration fee covers the costs of: rights, royalties, insurances, technical and creative staff, set and props and venue hire.
Once the cast has been finalised you may have an additional costume hire fee (as stated on registration form).
WORKSHOP INFORMATION
Thank you for your interest in BGPA’s production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! This is a youth production for 6-18 yr olds. All participants must be at least 6 years old by the date of performance.
AUDITION DAY FOR SPEAKING/FEATURED ROLES:
Character/featured role auditions are NOT compulsory and are for any participant who would like to be considered for a speaking or featured role, plus a great way to get to know the creative team!!
Our in-person try outs will be held on SUNDAY 15TH OF MARCH at our Bowen Hills Studio.
If you wish to be considered for a lead/featured role however cannot make it to our audition day… that's okay! Email us directly on info@bgperformingarts.com and we can offer an online video submission!

Audition Day Details:
When: Sunday 15th of March 2026
Where: 12 Jamieson Street, Bowen Hills QLD 4006
Time:
6-13yrs: 2:30pm-5:30pm
(Students can sign into the building from 2:15pm)
14-18yrs: 9:00-2:00pm (Primary Audition & Callback)
(Students can sign into the building from 8:45am)
14-18yrs: 4:30pm-5:30pm (Additional Callback for selected students)
*PLEASE NOTE: All students 14-18yrs will be released at 2pm from their audition session. Students will be notified by the creative team if they are required at 4:30pm for an additional acting callback.
What: Attendees will participate in a vocal, acting and dance session for our creative team to assess where each performer will best fit within the show.
What to bring: Appropriate shoes, sweat towel, sufficient water and snacks and anything else you may need! (We will provide all paper materials)
What to wear: Please wear clothing that you can easily move in (you will be dancing) and enclosed shoes. Jazz shoes are recommended but not necessary.
What to prepare: All music and dance components will be taught on the day. All singing and acting materials can be found on the dropbox link received after registration. We encourage everyone to be off-book for the audition so we can see your best work! (You can bring a copy with you if needed!)

We have two performances on SATURDAY the 18TH of APRIL 2026 at 2:00pm & 6:30pm
